In order to travel to Leipzig by plane, your destination will be the Airport Leipzig/Halle (LEJ). If there is no direct connection from your airport avaiable, the airports Cologne/Bonn, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Munich and Stuttgart offer direct flights to Leipzig. For international connections, you can check out this site.
From the Airport, you can take a train to Leipzig Central Station (about 4 Euros one-way) and take directions from there.
There are direct connections to Leipzig from almost every major city in Germany (Berlin, Frankfurt, Munich...). Informations on (international) connections and online ticket booking is available at www.bahn.com.
Follow the tram instructions from Leipzig Central Station ("Leipzig Hauptbahnhof")
A tram ticket for the inner part of Leipzig and the way to the Leipzig Cubus is included in your registration fee.
This will give you a convenient and free ride from the train station and most downtown hotels to the Leipzig Cubus. With your registration documents you receive by email, you receive your conference badge, which also serves as your tram ticket for the first day.
When arriving at Leipzig Central Station, you can take the tram line No. 3 (Direction "Sommerfeld") or No. 13 (Direction "Taucha") for a 15 minutes trip until the stop "Torgauer/Permoserstraße". There, you have to cross the street and walk the street "Permoserstraße" in eastern direction. After about 200 meters, you will see the main entrance of the UFZ.
A taxi from Leipzig Central Station to the UFZ will cost about 10 Euros.
The fare from Leipzig-Halle Airport is about 30 Euro.
